Quebec City, Canada — 2026

The Florida Alliance Girls Hockey Team has made history by becoming the first team from Florida, and the first all-female team from the state, to win the prestigious Quebec International Pee-Wee Hockey Tournament.

After dropping their opening game to the Quebec Aces in front of over 12,000 passionate hometown fans, the Alliance girls were forced into the tournament’s grueling losers bracket. What followed was one of the most remarkable runs in tournament history.

The team battled through elimination games and earned their way back to the championship game, where they faced an undefeated team from Switzerland in front of another massive crowd.

In a hard-fought 1–0 championship victory, defenseman Annabelle Moore scored the game’s only goal, a highlight-reel effort that electrified the arena and shifted momentum permanently in Florida’s favor.

From there, the defensive core of Rocky Rufo, Vivienne Davidson, Claire Drobot, and Annabelle Moore stood tall, shutting down the Swiss attack and preventing clean zone entries for the remainder of the game.

Behind them, goaltender Gigi Greco delivered an outstanding performance, turning away every opportunity and securing the historic shutout.

The championship appearance was powered by earlier heroics in the semifinal matchup against the Outaouais Olympiques, where Sadie Schachtler scored a thrilling overtime goal to send Florida to the finals. Rory Mayer played a pivotal role throughout the tournament, contributing key shifts and momentum-changing performances during the comeback run.

“This team showed resilience beyond their years,” said Head Coach Shawn Ray. “To lose in front of 12,000 fans, fight through the losers bracket, and then defeat an undefeated international opponent on the biggest stage in youth hockey, it speaks to their character, discipline, and belief in each other. It was very magical to witness their performance.”

The victory marks a historic milestone not only for the Florida Alliance organization, but for girls hockey development across the state of Florida.

This championship represents the growth of girls hockey in non-traditional markets and highlights Florida as a rising force on the international youth hockey stage.
